As the title suggests, this is a new
fighting game that features the Heroines from the
SNK franchises in 2v2 battles.
The console, which was built from the same guts as
SNK's MVS (Multi Video System) arcade hardware, is best remembered for its ludicrously steep price tag when it was released — it was priced at $ 649 dollars when it launched in 1990, while games were nearly half that price — as well as its staggering stable of
fighting game
franchises such as The King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown and Fatal Fury series.
The Neo-Geo is best known for its
fighting games, though, and it's fitting that the launch of the system on VC is marked with three games from some of
SNK's top
franchise fighters.
Oddly enough, the year after this game would see cancelation, another iconic
fighting series would give its
franchise a similar makeover in 3D:
SNK Playmore's King of Fighters: Maximum Impact.
