Platinum Card is fantastic for achieving hotel status, as it offers automatic Hilton Honors

and thus Marriott
Gold).
For example, the
Platinum Card from American Express offers Hilton
Gold Status
and SPG Gold Status, which allow you to take advantage of benefits like room upgrades
and free breakfasts.
Keep in mind that if you want to go the hard way
and get
SPG Gold or
Platinum with actual hotel stays, you can earn credits for up to three qualifying nights per night.
Lots of cards, such as Amex
Gold and Platinum, Chase Sapphire Preferred
and Ink Plus, Citi Prestige
and Premier, Amex
SPG Personal
and Business can get you these coveted Singapore miles.
The 100,000 Membership Rewards offer (or even 75,000) that roll out would definitely make me consider taking the
Platinum Card over the Prestige, especially if I were likely to visit airports with Centurion Lounges
and valued
Gold status with Hilton
and SPG.
While this isn't officially discussed in the benefits on the
SPG website,
SPG has been known to send out special promotions to members with
Gold or
Platinum status
and offer special discounts, such as 25 % off redemptions.
