Researchers involved in the initiative are developing, among other things, a way to search high - resolution
satellite images to detect the «container» habitats preferred by Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, said Paul Bieringer, PhD, a scientist with NCAR's National Security
Applications Program.
The
program also involves the
application of
satellite simulator software (COSP simulator package) that creates model output compatible with the retrievals of the International
Satellite Cloud Climatology Project (ISCCP) as well as CloudSat, CALIPSO, MODIS, and other
satellite instruments.
