It supports the artist's legacy through a variety of
initiatives, including exhibitions, loans of artworks, research and publications, conservation, grants, educational programs for the public and the
scholarly community, and the publishing of a
catalogue raisonné.
In addition, the Phillips's Center for the Study of Modern Art, its research facilities, will be renamed the University of Maryland Center for Art and Knowledge at The Phillips Collection, and will expand its work, hosting seminars and study programs, supporting two new postdoctoral fellowships, and digitizing the museum's collection of 9,500
scholarly books, exhibition
catalogues, and correspondence, among other
initiatives.
