Look, you probably know already whether you're going to
see Deadpool 2.
Several minutes later,
we see Deadpool jaunt across the world, slaughtering interchangeable villains in many countries, each shot of this montage an elaborate, frenetic long take that finds the hero stabbing and shooting, slicing off heads and arms, and eventually just cold chainsawing some mooks.
We want to
see Deadpool and Cable interact, not spend an hour just trying to explain where the hell he comes from.
This year alone audiences have
seen Deadpool flip the comic book genre on its head, Batman battle Superman, Dory find a new adventure and Captain America and Iron Man go toe to toe.
While it is fun to
see Deadpool back in action, with some context for what's going on, this trailer also goes out of its way to delve into the actual story.
Besides his many comic book appearances, we've
seen Deadpool in both versions of Marvel vs Capcom 3.
Spoiler warning, this review is intended only for people who have already
seen Deadpool 2 or who do not care about spoiling the film.
«I always
see Deadpool running against the grain for everything he does.
The film will
see Deadpool before he was Deadpool, and we'll see him both masked and scarred.
The opening montage
sees Deadpool creatively mutilate and decapitate gangsters across the world.
In it,
we see Deadpool, Domino and Cable riding a rainbow - haired unicorn, with Colossus holding on for dear life and Negasonic Teenage Warhead about to falling in the clouds.
In that teaser, Julian Dennison's character was shown inflicting fiery punishment upon the cult, but in this new trailer
we see Deadpool and co. going up against them - first Deadpool, then Domino.
In this trailer
we see Deadpool wearing a yellow jumpsuit in a DMC prison facility (Cable's battle with DMC agents seems to be part of an effort to break into the prison and kill / maim Deadpool), and later both Cable and Deadpool are shown assaulting a DMC prison transport vehicle.
In the previous trailer of the film, we also
saw Deadpool's girlfriend Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) who is missing from the latest trailer.
But if you've
seen Deadpool (it's currently in theaters and earning rave reviews), you know it's unlike anything anyone expected.
If you got out to the theater
saw Deadpool 2 this weekend, or if you've spent any time in the spoiler section of the internet, you've probably realized that the credits scene from the film has been a massive topic of conversation.
Can I tell you how ticked - off my 11 - year - old is about NOT GETTING TO
SEE Deadpool?
As anyone who's
seen Deadpool 2 now knows, one of Wade Wilson's primary goals in the sequel is to find some way to kill himself, so that he can be reunited with tragically deceased girlfriend Vanessa.
To begin, I'm strongly advising
you see Deadpool starring Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson, before attempting to view Deadpool 2.
Valentine's Day is tomorrow and unless you plan on going to
see Deadpool for the romantic aspect (it's there I swear), there's not much in the way of romance in theaters.
That allows us to control that budgetary thing a little more; I don't think we're gonna
see Deadpool and Cable on some far - flung planet 300 years from now because I just feel like that's gonna be expensive, A, and will also take away from the relatability of Deadpool.
The final Deadpool 2 end credits scene
sees Deadpool visiting Ryan Reynolds himself.
After an action montage, the beginning of Deadpool 2
sees Deadpool and his girlfriend Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) celebrate their anniversary while planning to have a baby — a blazing warning sign for any woman in an action movie.
But the post-credits scene
saw Deadpool going back in time for a few reasons, the first of which is saving Vanessa's life.
After the credits,
we see Deadpool using Cable's time - travel device to travel back in time all the way back to 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Prepare to
see Deadpool 2 twice, because the screenplay's best lines, tragically, will be buried by the roaring laughter of a sure - to - be-raucous movie theater crowd.
To say I'm dying to
see Deadpool again would be an understatement.
You will need to
see Deadpool more than once, because laughter from the audience will actually drown out certain scenes leaving you missing stuff.
Published in October, Deadpool # 20 written by Gerry Duggan diverts from the main plot and
sees Deadpool help a suicidal girl named Danielle.
Since then, we've
seen Deadpool apologizing to David Beckham, sitting in bed with Hugh Jackman, taking over the The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Ryan Reynolds singing on South Korean TV disguised as a unicorn, and many more creative and unique ways to promote Deadpool 2.
So you won't
see Deadpool hanging out with Iron Man or Captain America anytime soon.
Better still, Reese and Wernick's politically incorrect zingers («Today was about as much fun as a sandpaper dildo») dovetail with former FX whizz Miller's penchant for excessive / stylish violence and creepy horror (
see Deadpool cutting his own hand off and it growing back).
Yes, the final scenes of the movie
see Deadpool in the grey and black X-Force costume he wore during his membership.
Why fill in the blanks, though, when we can
see Deadpool work through several iterations of his nifty spandex outfit, and bicker with his cantankerous blind roommate (Leslie Uggams making a ferocious comeback) while waiting for his regenerating hand to grow to full size?
«I'd love to
see a Deadpool / Logan movie,» Reynolds said.
An early version of the film
saw Deadpool being a father but it did not come as close to fruition as previous comments might have lead fans to believe.
If you've already
seen Deadpool 2, then some congratulations are in order.
