I've done the
shakshuka thing
in so many different variations.
We are
in a low carb phase so: baked eggplant lasagna — without the pasta zaatar zucchini sticks and scrambled eggs seared tuna with avocado and romaine salad tilapia baked with sauteed vegetables omelettes with feta and peppers - oven grilled asparagus on the side

in.
(Although there is a very similar dish
in Algerian, Egyptian, Libyan, Moroccan, and Tunisian cuisines called
shakshuka.)

I actually first had

When tomatoes and peppers are
in season we eat
Shakshuka regularly — I love it.
Crack eggs one at a time into a ramekin and then gently pour each one into an egg - sized hole you make
in the
shakshuka, evenly spaced around the pan.
Runny eggs were my thing, especially
in shakshuka, or sunny - side - up with a side of hash browns.
I've read that it's also popular
in homes throughout Israel, where it is known as
Shakshuka.
It's
Shakshuka: Eggs Poached

in love with it!
One of their most obvious uses is for hummus or falafel, but they can also be used
in shakshuka, a North African dish that uses tomato sauce as a base for cooking eggs.
Shakshuka means «all mixed up»
in Hebrew and is one of the most popular breakfast dishes
in Israel and at Sofra.
Yet, for some reason I've never tried to make it myself, despite being inspired by the
shakshuka recipes
in Ottolenghi's Jerusalem, on David Lebovitz's blog and Green Kitchen Stories.
Now, baked eggs, or
Shakshuka as they are called
in North Africa, are without a doubt one of my all time favourite things to eat for breakfast, brunch, lunch OR dinner.
CAFÉ MÉRICOURT Café Méricourt is famous for its
shakshuka (baked eggs
in tomato sauce) alongside pancake stacks and other brunch staples.
But if you're a few tracks into The Bodyguard soundtrack and feeling like every woman (or man), take a big spoon and make four indents
in the
shakshuka, then crack those eggs on the side of the pan and drop them straight into their little egg beds.
Dizengoff serves
shakshuka — a skillet of warmly - spiced tomato sauce and poached eggs — to dine -
in customers on Sundays only, as well as a dangerously drinkable bourbon - spiked frozen mint lemonade.
Pick your favorite squash half and put the other one
in the fridge because it's destined for
shakshuka greatness.
I first encountered shakshouka (also known as
shakshuka or chakchoukah)
in Morocco.
Rachael's cross between ratatouille and
shakshuka blends European and Middle Eastern styles by calling for eggs to be cooked
in a zucchini, eggplant, pepper, herb and tomato mixture.
Shakshuka, or eggs poached

Watch closely toward the end of the cooking time and remove from oven when the eggs have plenty of wobble left
