Here you can stay abreast of the tide of the battle, which is turned by eliminating the bosses of
outposts and forts, which turns the encampment to your
side's colour, and immediately summons a squadron of soldiers to defend the area.
Rescuing prisoners, blowing up valuable supplies, or taking out cult VIPs are all things you can do in addition to actual activities, while the game's returning
outposts and
side missions also give you significant boosts to the all - important meters that measure quite how much you've messed up the day of the Eden's Gate cult.
As you'll see in the gameplay below, a lot of the mission - to - mission focus is still liberating various
outposts to unlock new main and
side missions, but getting between those
outposts has never been more fun.

Instead, interacting with NPCs or reading various bits of paper scattered around the place will mark new enemy
outposts, prepper stashes and
side - missions on your map.
After the initial cutscene - travel up the western
side of the map being sure to capture the
outposts and keeps along the way.
You can also upgrade your weapons from the
outposts which unlock once
side missions have been completed or when you have found a certain number of collectibles, which come in the form of television sets and VHS tapes.
The freedom you have to approach
outposts in different ways extends to a lot of
side missions as well.
It provides a moreish loop during the open - world sections; roll up to a new
outpost, chat to a local tipster to uncover nearby
side quests and monster hunts, and then turning in a couple of bounties before settling down for the evening, cooking up some stat - boosting meals with your boys at camp and cashing in the day's EXP.
Aside from the campaign, players will experience
side - quests, options to free - roam,
outpost to capture, and freedom to interact with the NPC's within the world how they wish.
Each one controls a section of Hope County, and they'll need to be lured out by earning resistance points, which is done by completing story and
side missions as well as capturing
outposts, destroying supplies and otherwise creating mayhem.
The numerous
outposts and points of interest (landmarks) are unique in their own right, but the smaller settlements are only distinguishable by the types of
side - quests you're offered and the items for sale at the market.
Just like previous entries, players choose between completing main missions to move the story forward — which usually feature the best action set - pieces and scenarios in the game, taking on
side missions to gain additional experience and bonuses, and conquering
outposts — here in the form of campfires and
outposts — in order to fast travel between points in the map.

Sure, the
side endeavours are enjoyable (especially when clearing
outposts and rescuing hostages), but every main mission I completed felt like it took place exclusively in that location.
I would have preferred if Valley of the Yetis was more of an add - on to the Far Cry 4 base game with more
outposts to capture, a longer and more creative story arc and
side arcs, and fast travel points.
Also, once you free all the
outposts, climb all the radio towers and do all the
side stuff, there's no incentive to keep playing unless you feel like starting over (even though you can free - roam after you've won the game).
One of the most interesting
side activities will probably be infiltratingliberatingtaking over cartel
outposts.
Commanding totems dedicated to Scabrous are littered across the place, smaller
outposts are there for you to loot, races and other car related missions are there to enjoy, and rounding out the types of
