Many years ago, I had for several years a summer job at
Silverstone racing circuit - on several occassions I drove around the circuit in a Sherpa Van (not quite like Nigel Mansell at that time) and at several Grand Prix I painted the white lines on the grid.

The
Silverstone circuit looked very different when it first hosted a F1 season opener, more specifically the maiden
race in the F1 world championship.

However, Hockenheim, Germany does not return to the 2017 calendar despite an attendance of around 60,000 upon its return in the 2016 season, although the loss of one track has been overcome by introducing an alternative track layout at
Silverstone Circuit, Great Britain; Bahrain International
Circuit;
Circuit of the Americas, Austin, Texas; and Suzuka International
Race Course, Japan.
