Summaries (sometimes called Profiles, Overview of Qualifications, etc.) for some reason are considered
more effective as they highlight your
skills rather than what you want / expect.
I added some
skills, joined some groups, made
more connections, tweaked my
summary and added a few things to other parts of my profile section.
While it does include some soft
skills in the
summary, it really doesn't tell the reader
more than what you accomplished professionally over the last decade or so.
Sometimes, a tailored objective can be there instead of
summary although it takes much
more skills to develop an effective and relevant objective statement.
