Roast three olive oiled red peppers in a 450º oven for
about 20 minutes / Remove from the oven when
skins are becoming charred / Cover immediately with a piece of foil and let sit for 20 minutes longer / Remove charred
skins from peppers along with seeds and place in a blender or

food processor until very smooth.
Working in batches, pass apples through
food mill into a large saucepan (you should have
about 4 cups purée); discard
skins and seeds.
Scoop the acorn squash flesh from the
skin (equals
about 3 cups) and add to a
food processor, along with 1 cup of hot liquid from the soup.
I thought
about that but the idea of
food colored rubbed all over the
skin in the soap did not sound appealing to me plus you were able to see the decorations inside better because they are clear.
