Skype UWP for Windows 10 Mobile and Windows 10 has just been updated, but only for Insiders in the Release Preview ring.
Microsoft announced that the upcoming

An update for
Skype UWP app brings the app to version 11.13.133, which, along with the removal of the «Preview» tag, introduces some new features and enhancements.

Skype UWP for Windows 10 devices has been updated for both PC and Mobile to version 12.9.565.0 but only for those in the Insider Fast Ring.

Even so, the non-preview Skype desktop app is still supported on these newer Windows 10 versions, alongside
the Skype UWP app.
It's been almost two months since Microsoft released
Skype UWP Preview (now only called Skype Preview) in Windows 10 for PCs build 14316, promising a version of the app that would be compatible with Windows 10 Mobile later.
While not a huge change, it is a start and confirmation that Microsoft does indeed plan on bringing the full Fluent Design language to
the Skype UWP app.
The new
Skype UWP app is only available on PC for now, with Windows 10 Mobile support planned for a future preview build.
If you've updated to the latest Windows Insider build (14316), you may have noticed that there's now
a Skype UWP app installed by default along with the usual Microsoft apps.
You can also find Acrylic in Paint 3D and
the Skype UWP app.
There are six in the entire list, addressing issues in
the Skype UWP app, Outlook 2016, Microsoft Edge, Windows Update, and the F12 Developer Tools.
We are first releasing this for PCs only, but we will be making
the Skype UWP app available on for Mobile in a future build.
With its rollout of build 14327 yesterday, Microsoft only said that it would introduce «
the Skype UWP Preview app for mobile in an upcoming build».
Over on its Skype Garage & Updates blog, it reiterated that it will «soon be releasing
the Skype UWP Preview app to your mobile devices», adding:
Since then, Microsoft were assuring users that the feature would return in the new
Skype UWP app.
Today
the Skype UWP for Windows 10 was updated!
If you can't wait for Microsoft to finally unleash
the Skype UWP Preview for Windows 10 Mobile, a newly leaked version of the app may just do the trick.
The app will first release on Windows 10 PCs and later on, you'll be able to use the same
Skype UWP app on your Windows 10 Mobile devices.
If you're on the Anniversary Update or Creators Update, trying to install the new preview app will result in the installer telling you to use
the Skype UWP app instead.

the Skype UWP app not being launched if it was minimized when you clicked an incoming call notification.
We are first releasing this for PCs only, but we will be making
the Skype UWP app available for Mobile in a future build.

Skype UWP finally receives first bits of Fluent Design in latest update for Insiders in the Fast ring!
With the updated version of
the Skype UWP Preview app, you can now create and send group messages, as well as make group audio and video calls.
Many of them already feature rich notifications, a few examples of these are: Flipboard,

Aside from improvements to Cortana and the Action Center, perhaps the most important improvement is the new
UWP Skype Preview app.

Skype experience has been removed in the latest build, Microsoft evidently plans to offer similar functionality - with SMS and
Skype messages available in the same place - in its new
UWP app on Windows 10 Mobile devices.
