Fortunately, in December 2016 Korean joined the 21st century, so now we can book
a Skyteam partners award ticket online.
However, Air France / KLM's ability to search for
SkyTeam partner award space is better as Delta sometimes doesn't show availability when it actually exists.
One important piece to searching for
SkyTeam partner award space is that you must specify that you are searching for a SkyTeam award otherwise your search results will only show Korean Air options.
Another good option for finding
SkyTeam partner awards is the Air France website, which I've already written about.
Anyway, it seems Mixed Class awards are only allowed on Alitalia flights, not on
Skyteam partner awards.
Not exact matches
The Gold Delta SkyMiles ® Credit Card from American Express won't help you save on any domestic airline you choose, but it will help you earn
awards flights with Delta and other international
SkyTeam partners.
Chase Ultimate Rewards can be transferred to 9 airline
partners, which give you access to
award flights with all 3 major airline alliances: Oneworld,
SkyTeam, and Star Alliance.
Since Aeromexico is a member of the
SkyTeam alliance, you can also book
award travel on some of its
partner airlines, however,
award availability on these will vary.
Note that AeroMexico miles redeemed for
award flights on
SkyTeam partners will have varying value.
Unlike with Delta
award flights, you will have to call Korean Air to book as their online search function only allows you to search for
award space on
SkyTeam partners.
Like Korean Air SkyPass, Air France / KLM Flying Blue can book
award flights on
SkyTeam partner Delta but also with their
partner Alaska Airlines.
Hot Tip: In December 2016, Korean Air finally added Delta Air Lines and most other
SkyTeam partner routes to its website for online
award booking.
You can only use Korean Air and
SkyTeam partners for Round the World
awards, not other airline
partners.
You can earn Flying Blue
Award miles for flights on all Flying Blue
partners, but Level (status) miles can only be earned by flying on the Flying Blue and
SkyTeam partner airlines.
Keep in mind that if you have to connect with their
SkyTeam partner Delta, you will be required to book a
SkyTeam award, which is governed by a different
award chart and requires round - trip bookings.
Delta's many redemption
partners also include popular hotels, car rental agencies, and online retailers, but it's rarely a good idea to use points for anything except
award flights with Delta or one of its
SkyTeam.
In addition to
Award Miles, you'll earn Level Miles for flying on
SkyTeam partner airlines such as Air France, KLM, and other carriers.
Thanks to Korean Air's
SkyTeam partner, you can book an
award flight on Air France in economy class from Los Angeles (LAX) to Tahiti (PPT) for 60,000 Korean Air SkyPass miles.
The newest transfer
partner is a
SkyTeam partner similar to Korean Air, but Flying Blue
awards are much easier to process online as most
award redemptions, including
partner airlines, can be completed online.
Delta SkyMiles can be used to book
award flights on Delta, any of their
SkyTeam partners, or individual airline
partners such as Virgin Atlantic or Virgin Australia.
If you don't see
award space when you run a search, double check on Air France's site as it is generally the best place to search
SkyTeam partners.
Like Korean Air SkyPass, Air France / KLM Flying Blue can book
award flights on
SkyTeam partner Delta but also with their
partner Alaska Airlines.
Unlike with Delta
award flights, you will have to call Korean Air to book as their online search function only allows you to search for
award space on
SkyTeam partners.
Award Travel redemption on Thai AirAsia is not combinable with Delta,
SkyTeam ® Global Alliance
Partners, or other Airline Partner itineraries.
With 16 airline transfer
partners, you have access to
award flights with airlines that are part of Oneworld, Star Alliance, and
SkyTeam.
Delta doesn't have separate
award prices for its
partner airlines, most of which participate in the
SkyTeam alliance.
You can't fly any airline, but thanks to airline alliances, such as Oneworld,
SkyTeam, and Star Alliance, you can book
award flights on
partner airlines.
Korean Air does not allow you to book one way
awards with
SkyTeam partners but you can still book one way
awards on Korean Air's own metal.
You can also take advantage of some great rates by using Korean Air SKYPASS miles to book
awards on
SkyTeam Alliance
partners.
With SkyMiles, you can buy
award flights on any of the 20
SkyTeam partners if you book through Delta.
Before using Korean Air's website to search for your
award, we recommend using Delta's website to search for availability on most
SkyTeam partners.
American Express's transfer
partners also cover all three of the major airline alliances, so you'll be able to book
award travel to anywhere through the Star Alliance, oneworld and
SkyTeam.
Unless you can find an
award seat on Delta or Korean Air, it's best to avoid booking through
SkyTeam since Delta adds fuel surcharges to most of its other
partners.
Call SkyPass at (800) 438-5000 — Request to book a
SkyTeam or other
partner award (bonus) ticket, and you'll be promised a call back.
Vietnam Airlines has separate
award charts for its own flights and for flights on
partner airlines, including
SkyTeam members.
SkyTeam has the least friendly relationships, with many of its members blocking or restricting
partner awards.

partners (Alitalia, Delta) with non-stop flights between the East / Central U.S. and Italy, I imputed all of the possible routes into
Award Hacker.

awards on Korean Air (check the
partner award chards for each airline to find out how many miles you'll need) or you can credit your flying to Korean Air's SkyPass program.
Since I'm just focusing on booking
SkyTeam Alliance flights with Korean Air right now, below are the
award charts for bookings made on Star Alliance
Partners.

You can now use 85,000 SkyMiles for a one - way business class
award on
SkyTeam partners such as China Airlines — fun fact, it's a Taiwanese airline — and Korean Air.
Korean Air is a member of the
SkyTeam Alliance so you can use SKYPASS to book
award flights on
SkyTeam Alliance
partners in addition to several non-alliance
partners.
The only problem is that these special promo
awards must be flown on Air France or KLM, meaning that you won't be able to settle for lower
SkyTeam partner fees.
It does» t even guarantee that low - level
awards (those that are available to other
SkyTeam partners as well) will always be priced at that level, since the mileage cost of a ticket might also vary depending on the season.
Although Delta
awards can be expensive, you might be able to utilize your SkyMiles on
SkyTeam partners in effecient ways so don't discount this card (or the business version either).
Korean Air SkyPass and Flying Blue are both good options for international travel, but I wasn't able to find the necessary
award availability on these carriers and their
SkyTeam Partners.
