This is a perfect time to use a
sleep nursing
bra — since it's very lightweight, doesn't have an underwire, and has room to give during engorgement.

did find conflicting info about the support the
sleep bra offers on Medela's packaging and Motherhood's website.
These types of
bras are much more supportive than a
sleep bra but they
do not have underwire.

Although having to go through IVF and gestational diabetes and 2 c - sections and Joey's NICU / nursery stays and both kids self weaning were all huge emotional and physical traumas for me (and my husband), now that they're in the past and I'm a mommy to two amazing toddlers, I can see that it all worked out how it was supposed to.And my advice to all new mothers who hope / plan to nurse take a breastfeeding class when pregnant, have a breastpump in the house before the baby is born, buy nursing
bras that have front panels that you can open easily (and bring some to the hospital with you when you go to give birth), don't be afraid to pump and let someone else give the baby a bottle of your milk when you need to
sleep, hold off on introducing baby food until much closer to 1 year old than 6 ohtnms, and be prepared for it to be hard and possibly painful at first (think cracked, bleeding nipples and breasts that are so full of milk you think they will explode so also have lanolin and / or nipple cream in the house, and nurse or pump well before you let yourself become engorged and in pain).

sleep with your

I wear my
bras to bed most nights for extra support and I
slept just as well in this one as I
do a sports
bra.
The OTS part was also not cooperative and I don't even OWN a strapless
bra (oh my gosh the dog just burped in his
sleep and it sounded like a child said «hi») so what was I even thinking??
I
did get over the nursing
bra ugliness after the little man was born — I must have been distracted by, OH I
DO N'T KNOW, the pain meds, constipation meds, hormonal skin, dark circles, the hospital's granny panties, ginormous maxi pads, a still - huge but now jelly - like belly, the total lack of
sleep, and oh yeah — the BABY.
So far, I have been wearing the Gillian O'Malley
sleep nursing
bras and tanks, they are great for quick access but
do not provide much support.
I don't know about you, but I can never
sleep well with a wired
bra.
So basically i
did: nursing
sleep bra with nursing tank (offered more support than just the tank alone, which I didn't find comfortable), leggings or pj pants, and cardigan.
I always buy cute Tee's that I don't have to wear a
bra with and that is what I
sleep in.
