My crude reconstruction of TSI (albeit based on a good correlation between ACRIM and smoothed SSN) shows that the lower end of the TSI estimate discussed in the post above is more likely to be correct.
For comparison the post 2003 TIM TSI dataset shows an R - squared of.73 when regressed against the smoothed SSN.
I downloaded some TSI reconstructions covering the period 1910 to 1945 to cross-check my smoothed SSN / ACRIM model.

Obviously the main disagreement between myself and the above Skeptical Science calculation is the TSI input, but after doing my own reconstruction based on a very good correlation between ACRIM and SSN (smoothed), I think the 1W / m2 delta TSI in this period is just too high.
I observed four significant peaks in the PSD of the SSN process at 10 years, 11.8 years, 10.8 years, and 131 years (unfortunately, the one at 131 years is obscured in the PSD I showed because I had to make the usual tradeoff between bias (resolution) and variance in my plot, and I chose to present a smoother version, the better to resolve the higher frequency peaks).
I took the monthly SSN record (sorry I don't know where I downloaded it from, it was already on my computer), smoothed it using rolling 60 - month averages in order to remove wild variations from the peaks and troughs (http://members.westnet.com.au/jonas1/SSN60mthSmoothed.JPG), then notionally drew the line to each peak from the previous peak, as the predicter for the next peak.
