Stories or Discover content that could easily be skipped with a single tap, or sponsored creative tools that
let you try on goofy masks or project 3D mascots into the world but that didn't offer much utility.

Snapchat could similarly get into the sponsorship deal making with big stars, and / or
let creators earn a cut of ads that run beside their
Stories.
But that's not the only change rolling out today:

The company already
lets users search across
Stories by keywords for the objects in question (like «dogs»), or to search through their
Snapchat Memories.
Facebook is looking to boost usage of its
Snapchat - like
Stories feature by
letting people post from Instagram to its main mobile app.
While both Instagram and
Snapchat have
let people privately send other people's posts to friends as private messages,
Snapchat lacks a way to embed other
Stories or Discover content in your
Story.
Facebook could jumpstart its
Snapchat clone by
letting social media stars and public figures post
Stories publicly.
Facebook - owned messaging app WhatsApp is experimenting with a new Status feature that
lets users share mood - setting pictures and videos overlaid with other custom elements such as emoji, with the content disappearing 24 hours after it's shared — so basically a copy of
Snapchat Stories.
Additionally,
Snapchat will finally
let users mention their friends in snaps uploaded to
Stories.
Facebook
lets you roll video for up to 20 seconds, unlike Instagram
Stories that allows 15 seconds of video, and
Snapchat, that caps it off at 10 seconds.
WhatsApp has introduced a new Status feature à la
Snapchat Stories that
lets you post decorated and videos to groups of contacts.
While you focus your attention on creating enticing
Stories, either on
Snapchat or Instagram, don't
let your Facebook Ads fall behind.
Many are pointing out the similarity to
Snapchat's popular
Stories feature, which
lets its users post photos and videos that also disappear after 24 hours.
