During his
studies at the Staatliche Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf, he met Gerhard Richter and Konrad Lueg, with whom he founded «Capitalist
Realism», a movement that referred ironically to
Socialist Realism, the official art of the Soviet Union and
Socialist block.
