,» Dr. Andrea Bonny,
a Society of Family Planning fellow and an assistant professor of pediatrics with the Division of Adolescent Medicine at Nationwide Children's Hospital, looked at whether the level of expression of hormone receptors or key fat metabolism enzymes in the fat cells of female teenagers made them more likely to gain weight when using the Depo - Provera (DMPA) contraceptive shot.
«Women want accurate reproductive health information, and those with weight concerns are no different,» said Dr. Melissa Gilliam, board president of
the Society of Family Planning and professor of obstetrics and gynecology and pediatrics at the University of Chicago.
The 2018 North American Forum on Family Planning (Forum), a conference co-sponsored by Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA),
the Society of Family Planning (SFP), and the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP), will be held October 20 - 22 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and will be preceded by two days of pre-conference sessions.
The new label updates the protocol for medication abortion so it reflects the most common evidence - based protocols recommended by Planned Parenthood, the World Health Organization, the American Medical Association, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and
the Society of Family Planning.
