According to a recent revelation by SEGA Community Manager Aaron Webber, Super Sonic was not meant to be in
Sonic Forces at all.

Forces, especially four months, give or take, before the latter game is even released.

Sonic Forces isn't coming out until later this year, SEGA knows how to keep fans salivating
at the mouth...
In an interview with Metro's GameCentral, Takashi Iizuka boasted confidence about both Mania and
Forces, but there's a catch: Both games are targeted
at different demographics — older fans who prefer 2D
Sonic, and younger fans who like 3D
Sonic (I'm on the latter side)-- but only the success of Mania might determine the path
Sonic will take from there on in.
A mediocre platformer

Sonic Forces manages to do nothing more than reinforce long held stereotypes against Sega's beloved blue blur.

Sonic Boom shared the same sentiment that I did about the powers - saying it felt
forced, broke the flow of the game and made it feel linear, especially in comparison to
Sonic Mania.

At first,
Sonic Forces» emphasis on story seems like a refreshing shift from the predominantly simple plot lines of recent games in the series.
Sonic Forces is nowhere near as demanding or intricate as a game like Bayonetta, but it has that hyperactive «throw everything
at the wall» mentality Platinum games have.

Today, SEGA announced that
Sonic Forces would get a free piece of DLC

Honestly, the level of design
at work in
Sonic Forces almost reminds me of a Platinum Games title.
As for Day 2 of YouTube Live
at E3, both
Sonic Mania and
Sonic Forces will be making an appearance and so will LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2.

The trailer gives us another look
at the
Sonic Forces character creator, which we expect to be put to use outside of the game just as soon as modders get their eager little paws on it.
Apparently shown off behind closed doors
at SXSW last week, some sneak camera footage has slipped out of the event giving us our first - very blurry - look
at what is now known as
Sonic Forces.
Update: Following on from some off - screen footage of
Sonic Forces being shown
at the SXSW event last week, SEGA published the in - game capture.
Sonic Forces is due out November 7 and after playing it we're very excited
at the prospect.
Rolling starts yielded a similar result, minus the launch issues, with the
Sonic pulling away in 2nd and 3rd gear consistently before the gap stabilised
at a single car's length, the Swift somehow negating the
forced induction difference from mid-way through 3rd gear and upwards.
Look more closely
at our 2013 Chevrolet
Sonic RS and you'll find a number of interesting gems: That reasonably powered engine is
force - fed via a turbocharger.
SONIC Tools joined
forces with Corvette Racing during the 2017 season as a technical partner and those same tools that are used by crew chief Dan Binks and the mechanics
at Pratt & Miller on the Corvette C7.Rs are now being offered to enthusiasts in the form of this special edition toolbox.
While we don't have specific figures on the sales of
Sonic Forces, it does seem that SEGA is happy with the game's reception
at retail.

Sonic DLC was going to be arriving in
Sonic Forces, and I don't know if this has ever been officially stated yet, so I actually also wanted to mention this for the record, but Super
Sonic was never initially planned to be in
Sonic Forces.

There is fundamentally, objectively no way for
Sonic Forces to not have
at the barest minimum, the same level of WOW as Mania.
Dataminers have been poking away
at Sonic Forces, which has resulted in some interesting finds.
- Iizuka has received a ton of requests from fans to have their own original characters appear in
Sonic games - while that couldn't happen,
Sonic Forces» custom character recognizes that fan desire - the avatar was created with the idea of «making straight high - speed action» - this time the concept is that all three styles (Modern, Classic, Avatar) would be high - speed based - make selections for the face, mouth, body color, and gender of custom characters - each species will also have their own unique skills, such as wolves being able to pull nearby rings - you can't change custom characters in the middle of the game - there is some sort of feature that's unlocked after you've cleared the game once related to this - the new avatar style will have a speedy and rhythmic style like Modern
Sonic, but also different vectors from
Sonic - this includes differences in timing for pressing buttons, or the Wisps giving the avatar trickier movements - the story aims to depict heroes that would feel like
Sonic - by controlling different characters, the devs hope to show a story that extends to explaining the world setting as well - the story concept has been «Hero Army vs. Eggman's Army» from the start - when wondering who should be made playable among the heroes, the idea came up for Classic
Sonic - the character setting for the avatar is a civilian in an area occupied by Eggman who stands up and fights together with
Sonic - during stages, you'll hear radio contact from partners like Tails and Amy -
Sonic and the rest of the gang form a resistance to stand against Eggman's army, so they relay information from headquarters - boss characters like Chaos and Metal
Sonic will appear in Eggman's army - details on the new character (Infinite) are being kept secret - the main part of the storyline is that Eggman gathers strong enemies in the past to form an all mighty army - some people might be wondering why Shadow is on the enemy's side, but they can find out more by experiencing the story - the team thinks Japanese fans are taking a liking to the serious story and character customization features - there were some struggles with the new engine in early stages, but now they've moved to a smooth development process - the team knew they wanted to bring the game to Nintendo's new console before they even knew it was the Switch - the Switch info came to them during the middle of the game's development - SEGA knew Nintendo fans would want to play
Sonic's new game, which is why they personally worked to bring it to Switch - SEGA plans to show the game in Japan
at Tokyo Game Show 2017 in September - the team is also working on providing new information, including news that would be unique to Japan
Also Chemical Plant has already been confirmed (look
at the
Sonic twitter page), and Sky Sanctuary is speculated to appear as well because it appears in the
Sonic Forces mobile game.
Speaking of fast paced I'm glad to tell you that
Sonic Forces runs
at 60 fps on the Xbox One X.

In light of
Sonic Forces» deficiencies,
at least
Sonic fans have good
Sonic game to play on the system.
Forces continues the trend of Modern
Sonic games being very average and not even an injection boost like Classic
Sonic or the new customisable Avatar character can save this from being average
at best.
Being
at your friend's house or on your own house playing Goofy Troop or
Sonic... Playing Contra and power rangers that was a gold era... On PSOne so many games were made for that like crash team racing / bash, fightning
force, twisted metal, tony hawk all was so great... now everything is online: (Kinda sad IMO.
