During a panel at the San Diego Comic - Con today, Sega revealed some new details on
Sonic Mania, the blue blur's 2D revival
game which
comes out August 15th.
Sonic Mania was released last August, and the hype for the
game hasn't stopped since, with a physical version
coming out this summer.
Personally,
Sonic Mania edges
out Sonic CD for me because I was never that big of a fan of the time - traveling aspect in
Sonic CD, and Mania builds upon every classic
Sonic game that
came before it while also not forgetting its past, if that makes any sense whatsoever.
If you were playing
games back in the 90's, than there is every chance you have played at least one
Sonic game and now that
Sonic Mania is
out on various platforms for the whole world to enjoy, the time has
come for lots of
gamers to relive their childhood and for me to review what is swiftly become a world renowned creation.
This is a
game that looks, feels, and plays like something that should have
come out in 1995, as an immediate follow - up to
Sonic & Knuckles.
There are also a couple of movies from
Sonic Heroes (a
game that
came out around the same time as this collection).
Although those original conversations happened about three years before the Olympics
game came out, we weren't able to really make a
game that featured
Sonic and Mario back from that original conversation, but because we had those conversations, it kind of kicked off future conversations with Nintendo which afterwards led to the Olympic
game coming out.
- Iizuka has received a ton of requests from fans to have their own original characters appear in
Sonic games - while that couldn't happen,
Sonic Forces» custom character recognizes that fan desire - the avatar was created with the idea of «making straight high - speed action» - this time the concept is that all three styles (Modern, Classic, Avatar) would be high - speed based - make selections for the face, mouth, body color, and gender of custom characters - each species will also have their own unique skills, such as wolves being able to pull nearby rings - you can't change custom characters in the middle of the
game - there is some sort of feature that's unlocked after you've cleared the game once related to this - the new avatar style will have a speedy and rhythmic style like Modern Sonic, but also different vectors from Sonic - this includes differences in timing for pressing buttons, or the Wisps giving the avatar trickier movements - the story aims to depict heroes that would feel like Sonic - by controlling different characters, the devs hope to show a story that extends to explaining the world setting as well - the story concept has been «Hero Army vs. Eggman's Army» from the start - when wondering who should be made playable among the heroes, the idea came up for Classic Sonic - the character setting for the avatar is a civilian in an area occupied by Eggman who stands up and fights together with Sonic - during stages, you'll hear radio contact from partners like Tails and Amy - Sonic and the rest of the gang form a resistance to stand against Eggman's army, so they relay information from headquarters - boss characters like Chaos and Metal Sonic will appear in Eggman's army - details on the new character (Infinite) are being kept secret - the main part of the storyline is that Eggman gathers strong enemies in the past to form an all mighty army - some people might be wondering why Shadow is on the enemy's side, but they can find out more by experiencing the story - the team thinks Japanese fans are taking a liking to the serious story and character customization features - there were some struggles with the new engine in early stages, but now they've moved to a smooth development process - the team knew they wanted to bring the game to Nintendo's new console before they even knew it was the Switch - the Switch info came to them during the middle of the game's development - SEGA knew Nintendo fans would want to play Sonic's new game, which is why they personally worked to bring it to Switch - SEGA plans to show the game in Japan at Tokyo Game Show 2017 in September - the team is also working on providing new information, including news that would be unique to J

For someone who personally hasn't gone
out on my own free will and picked a
Sonic game up in years, I was quite impressed to see how far the series has
come.
By the time I
came around to wanting to try a
Sonic game, all of the ones
coming out were full of interspecies loving and poorly employed
game mechanics.
For me the pros far
out weigh the cons when it
comes to
Sonic Adventure 2 and I really enjoyed playing this
game.
But let's not forget the already great
games that have
come out in the past, from racing to fighting to platforming adventures with a twist — like that time
Sonic transformed into a werewolf.
Shun Nakamura: It was very interesting for me to see
Sonic Mania
come out, get very high scores and have people praise the
game.
It should be pointed
out that it's not 100 % definite fact that these staff members left because of the state of
Sonic Boom, but it's quite a fair deduction and logical assumption given that so many decided to leave at the same time, as the disgusting
game was
coming to life.
When
Sonic Mania
comes out later this year, you'll be able to do just that, and at double the frame rate of the classic
games.
Although it
came out one year after
Sonic the Hedgehog 2, in some ways the
game feels more like a direct sequel to the first
game because of certain visual similarities.
Sonic Mania was released last August, and the hype for the

Perhaps a huge platforming adventure, a Mario Kart meets
Sonic and All - Stars racing
game,
come on Sega and Nintendo there are so many ideas
out there you just need to get creative and offer a chance to help both series shine in a new light, and without running through a tired license idea.

Sonic Mania should be praised not only for how awesome this
game is but the context this project

Sonic has never thrived in 3D, the 2D is pretty good, a bit disappointed to see this
game offered so cheap when I paid much more when it first
came out, It's worth having If you remember the old style of
Sonic on the Mega Drive, but I found myself only really enjoying playing those levels, every level with a 3D perspective I didn't enjoy.

It's no secret that unlike his closest rival, Mario,
Sonic has lost pace when it
comes to churning
out unforgettable video
games.
The first
Sonic Adventure was a damn good
game (it helped that those were the best console graphics I'd ever seen when it
came out), I actually beat it!
Crash Bandicoot (Sony Playstation's Mascot for a while), who wanted to be a Kart Racer (in Crash Team Racing) now had Crash Bash to party it up,
Sonic came out with
Sonic Shuffle (LOL), and many other gaming companies now had party
games.
Furthermore,
Sonic was also starring in numerous
games which seemed to be
coming out all the time, giving his fans plenty to choose from.
There was a
Sonic the Hedgehog
game that
came out a short while ago, you might have noticed.
Sonic has another
game coming out soon,
Sonic Forces, and recently
Sonic Team...
The
game is set to get a official release this October and the other
Sonic redemption machine that was spotted before (see photo below) will be
coming out November.
I'm sorry, but if you're seriously going to bag
out a
game just because
Sonic has green eyes, and doesn't spin his legs in a circle really fast, then you can just go ahead and play the old
games, and not have to worry about this one when it
comes out.
Finally, a true direct sequel to the hit
game Sonic and Knuckles, I'll love to see how it plays
out in the few
coming months!
That was when the
Sonic series truly started its chronic
game of «catch - up» with much better
games coming out... a
game which continues to this day.
The new fans looked bad for liking
Sonic Next Gen, now the retro fans will
come out bad for arguing over a character model and possibly rejecting a
game that was made as fanservice to them.
Named after
Sonic Forces, which isn't
coming out until November, the
game is developed by Hardlight Studio.
i'm really starting to hate the majority of the
sonic fanbase more and more, they finally give all of you what you've been whining for classic gameplay
sonic, for so long, and you tear it apart with little knowledge of how the
game is going to play
out, since it says it's
coming out this summer meaning atleast another 3 - 4 months of development.
it starts geting boring after a while when you keep on
coming out with related
games... but if i had a 360 i would so buy this only cuz i collect
sonic games:D.

Each level is designed to the point where it feels like it
came right
out of the Genesis era
Sonic games.
