The intro sequence that plays before you start the game was so awesome, the flashy new graphics, the awesome music by Crush 40 that would go on the do every (good)
Sonic game theme song for quite a while, it was amazing!

The music (composed by Tee Lopes) is also a great feature to the
game as well mixing classic
sonic music with newer tones to create upbeat and catchy
themes.
The alien Wispâ $ ™ s featured in the
game each have a unique â $ œColor Powerâ $ that, once freed,
Sonic is able to absorb while speeding through the various
theme park inspired planets. The Wisp energy enables
Sonic to create new paths through the stages by drilling through the ground (Yellow Drill) for example, or speeding through the stage as a laser (Cyan Laser).
Like most every 3D
Sonic game, the upcoming
Sonic Forces has its own catchy vocal
theme: Fist Bump.
The new boxset features a vast selection of tunes from various
Sonic games as well as a few exclusives like the main
theme from
Sonic Boom and Beyond the Speed Of... and Theory of Attack from the
Sonic Runners soundtrack.
Sonic's victory
theme is directly taken from the 2006
Sonic the Hedgehog
game, that tune being a remix of the «Act clear»
theme from
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and most
Sonic games after that.
This darker story is something fans have wanted to see in a
Sonic game since the Archie comics and Saturday morning cartoon presented similar ideas, but as you'll see become a
theme here, the great idea is squandered.

The mechanics of the
Sonic games can be divided into two distinct types; speed and navigating through labyrinthine zones of varying
theme.
As the
game loaded after the cheerful and familiar opening
theme of the first
Sonic game, I found myself repeating «Please don't suck», as I braced myself for whatever may happen.
The music (composed by Tee Lopes) is also a great feature to the
game as well mixing classic
sonic music with newer tones to create upbeat and catchy
themes.
As you can see, the
game is heavily influenced by
games like Out Run, Super Hang - On and even things like
Sonic 2 if you take a look at the casino -
themed area.
The new
Sonic Mania is stirring up lots of nostalgia for the original
Sonic the Hedgehog
games from the Sega Genesis era, and what better way to celebrate those timeless classics than with a Video
Game Live performance off the group's Level 2 album of the credits
theme from the original
Sonic the Hedgehog?
Events found in the
game include those seen in 2007's Bejing -
themed Mario &
Sonic at the Olympic Games, along with new events such as balance beam, 20K race walk and the 100 meter breaststroke.

You can see also that many of these old
games have influenced and even featured in Sega's newer electronic videogames that they've since become more known for, like their main company mascot —
Sonic the Hedgehog, the gameplay of
Sonic was originally designed to use pinball physics (momentum powered acceleration), many
Sonic games also feature slot mechanics and fruit machines in various levels — like Casino Might Zone for
Sonic 2 of the Mega Drive,
Sonic 3 had a whole «carnival»
themed zone — Carnival Night zone.
So that led us to make 3D
Sonic, followed by 3D Altered Beast, but we also had an underlying
theme in our mind for the 3D Remaster Project: «Getting people to challenge the
game one more time».
They look pretty nice, and certainly show that the
game has a lot of variation with the level
themes (perhaps a bit too much, I distinctly recall Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse simply having
themed worlds like the Mario and
Sonic the Hedgehog
games of the time).
The
Game Gear
theme is sporting the Green Hills Zone
theme from its version of
Sonic 2 and folders made out of 3D
Game Gear cartridges, while the Master System
theme features an 8 - bit rendition of the Space Harrier song and 3D gold cartridge folders (which were a line of Master System cartridges in Japan).
SEGA's take on Shadow the Hedgehog was always an unconventional take on the
Sonic series formula, but apparently
Sonic Team's original vision of the
game was slightly more adult -
themed than the
game we got.
Sonic has even starred alongside his former business rival Mario in a series of Olympics -
themed video
games.
This particular
game is entirely
themed around the new
Sonic Boom cartoon, which means the world and the entire cast in this
game all come from the TV show.
If they were going to copy one of the old MegaDrive
games to make an inferior version they could have at least tried to copy
Sonic 3 which imo was the per - excellence of the MegaDrive
Games and Eggman was sorely disappointing as well as his
theme too.
