Other than the fact that even Bandai Namco wrongly calls this the «start of a genre» (that was Demon's
Souls), this is the first time the
series will
see a release on a Nintendo console.
You've
seen this come up when a new Dark
Souls game is released, and there's a new round of questions over why the game doesn't include an «easy mode» to curb the

The team behind Stargate Network really is «making dreams come true» for fans of the Stargate
series as they've made the game incredibly detailed, managing to grab the
soul and heart of the universe, making you feel like your actually there as you've exactly
seen it in the movies and the shows.
FromSoftware have stated since the release that they believe this will be the last we
see of the Dark
Souls series; if so, it's a fitting end to one of the most wonderfully challenging and deeply engrossing video game
series» of all time.
Though Dark
Souls 3 has plenty of new, never - before -
seen environments, enemies, weapons and armor, fans of the
series will quickly spot references to past characters, areas, bosses and weapons from Lordran with exhausting frequency.
Games like the renowned
Souls series which began in this generation with its first iteration, Demon
Souls,
saw players with the option to wield big two handed swords and clubs to name a few.
We should have guessed that given the popularity of the first two Dark
Souls games we would end up
seeing a third game get released for the
series.
While it's very similar to what's been already
seen in the
Souls series, there's enough here to set it apart, and I really dig the samurai setting.
Further to this, these sorts of games have been
seen to expand their narratives with story modes, such as those found in Injustice: Gods Among Us and the
Soul Calibur
series.
Recently, Bandai Namco released the game's official synopsis (you can read it here via GameSpot), and we're already
seeing some similarities with the Dark
Souls series.
So yeah, it seems like we might
see the Dark
Souls series heading to the Nintendo Switch.
The Dark
Souls series is beloved of designers, who
see its singular, idiosyncratic approach, and seemingly uncompromised vision as an example of everything they hope to achieve.
The
Souls series was already in development when the Kadokawa acquisition happened, so once all those are released next year it will be interesting to
see what happens to From Software.
Whether this turns off hardcore fans of the Dark
Souls series and the original Demon's
Souls, remains to be
seen.
Sometime in 2018 we'll
see the return of the
Soul Calibur
series.

Souls series could be
seeing its debut during Sony's press conference.
The monstrous creatures that have become a staple of the franchise are here in force — perhaps not necessarily as grotesque as those
