UKC's 55 gun
dogs are the setters, retrievers, and all - around hunting
dogs in the AKC sporting
dog group plus many European
spaniels, pointers, and retrievers as well as breeds with exotic
names such as Stabyhoun, Pudelpointer; Barbet; and Kooikerhondje.
Despite its
name, this is not a true
spaniel, which is a hunting
dog.
Through the years she has lived with cow
dogs, Pitbullâ $ ™ s, Mastiffs, Labs and Cocker
Spaniels to
name a few.
At first they were called Japanese
Spaniels, but the
name was officially changed in 1977 to reflect the fact that this is not a sporting
dog.
