When I first heard about the wind waker HD remake I thought it would have been interesting to see a sort of Wind Waker HD collection: including Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass and
Spirit tracks, it would have taken longer sure but all we needed was technically there: the two screens... And it's not like making a
gamer from a portable to a console is anything new, I mean square enix did it with chain of memories a GBA
game then into a PS2
game.
Links Awakening, Oracle of Ages / Seasons, Four Swords, Minish Cap (one of my favorite Zeldas period), Phantom Hourglass,
Spirit Tracks, and then all the iterations of the console
games.
The three of those I haven't played through are the Oracle
games and
Spirit Tracks.
Phantom Hourglass and
Spirit Tracks for the DS were mainline
games made for the DS.
The news of the
game's move into spring 2010 is a bit of a disappointment, but looking at the
track record for both parties — Dragon Quest VIII, IX and the Professor Layton series from Level 5; Kiki's Delivery Service,

game, specifically, as well as other little references here and there to Link and characters / events that have already come and gone.

spirit of Valentine's Day, let's look at five

With
Spirit Tracks, I truly thought it would be the first Zelda
game I would legitimately dislike, but it ended up being one of my favourite titles of the year.
Spirit Tracks though I got near the end (I stopped at the Fire Temple) and I don't know why but I found the
game to be more fun.

Spirit Tracks appeared to have missed the point and kind of made that whole style of Zelda
games seem gimicky, which I find quite a shame.
Phourglass and
Spirit Tracks made Wind Waker a problem insomuch as they perpetuated the thought that cartoony Zelda
games are pure empty calories.
Phantom Hourglass was OK for one playthrough —
Spirit Tracks drove me up the wall with frustrating fetch quests seemingly intended just to prolong the
game.

game, I absolutely loved her character.
Skyward Sword and
Spirit Tracks both failed keep me engaged for very long and while Ocarina of Time 3D and Wind Waker HD were both fantastic, they were merely remakes of
games that I already completed many years ago.

Spirit Tracks is the latest Zelda
game I have had the pleasure of completing, and until the day I die I will defend its merits against all the unjustified hate it receives.
As the latest currently released
game in the official Legend of Zelda chronology,
Spirit Tracks has a few nice parallels with the very earliest, Skyward Sword (their relatively close release proximity probably helped this).
Though some
games have gotten this woefully wrong in my opinion, the introduction of spoils in The Wind Waker and the evolution of the idea into treasures in the likes of
Spirit Tracks and Skyward Sword present a clever solution.
This
game is worth the # 35 and will keep you busy for a long time, especially for those looking for a classic Zelda experience on a handheld, which I haven't experienced since playing Minish Cap (as I didn't happen to enjoy Phantom Hourglass and
Spirit Tracks much).
This even includes a very effective original
track for the loading screen that captures the adventuresome
spirit of the original
game.
