shift yourself.
The well - mannered seven - speed automatic has a

The wonkyness is not as pronounced in

shifting for yourself is the best way to keep the engine on the boil.

Shifts are decisive in
sport mode, but even better via the flappy paddles.
When in standard transmission, the continuously variable transmission (CVT)
shifts smoothly, but putting it into Drive
sport (Ds)
mode instantly makes it more aggressive.
The eight - speed auto is quicker than its needs to be, especially in
sport mode, but I didn't really use the paddle
shifters.
However, most of that was cured once I
shifted into
sport mode.
The
sport - plus
mode even further stiffens the steering, and basically throws
shift points out the window, making every
shift happen at the top of the tachometer.
But the 300S gets a performance version that includes paddle
