Start holding players accountable for their form!!!

Not exact matches

There was no problem with Holding starting. The problem was with Monreal starting. If people are saying Monreal starts over Holding this means a LB is better than a CB at LCB which is more of a disgrace to the CB.Monreal is good but he does not have the qualities of a CB to play there for long. He's not your stand out tackler, interceptor or ball winner. He doesn't have the height or even the strength. He's just a solid 1v1 player but being a great CB is not all about 1v1.

I still don't see how he is a super sub. He's labelled as a super sub just because of this season. Those matches when he scored he was supposed to be played because we needed an aerial presence.A lot of those matches had he started we could've won because we needed aerial presence. But the thing is that his abilities don't suit him as a super sub.I mean he holds up the ball well and is great in the air and that's just about it.He's actually the one one who needs service and who needs players around him to open up defences for him to receive the pass and not vice versa.Super subs actually provide they are not the one's to be provided for.In Giroud's case he was supposed to start in those in matches as Sanchez was not up to the task in aerial battles.Giroud will not be able to affect a match if the opponents are as good in the air.

Arsenal are recovering and slowly getting back some confidence and fluidity in their game, played 120 mins on sunday and needed to rotate various players who were obviously not fully recovered and who were certain» red flags» for muscular injuries if theyd started (ie, ox, ramsey, holding) Leicester did not deserve anything at all, they were ultra defensive, yes worked hard I agree but its easier to defend with 9 behind the ball for vast periods of the game.
Besides several teams who have questions surrounding one or possibly two players, there is no squad that has so many issues heading into the final week of the transfer window... even Monaco, who have lost numerous players from their starting 11 have less controversy swirling in and around their club and they have champion's league play to contend with this season... just think of how ridiculous this situation is especially considering that we have had the same manager for over 20 years... no team should be better organized than ours... if nothing else, that should be the one advantage this team holds over all others, yet the exact opposite has occurred... this fact is even more disturbing considering the main argument against removing Wenger from his managerial position was that there was no suitable replacement and that people feared some sort of perceived drop - off if a new manager was brought into the mix... based on what we've witnessed since the time of his contract renewal a monkey with a magic eight ball could have done an adequate job... I hate to make jokes, in light of our current dilemma, but this team is so screwed up if I don't laugh about it, the only plausible response is to either cry or do something incredibly destructive... just look around this squad and try to see what our delusional manager sees that allow him to make such positive statements about our current team
This headline could be said for any player this year!!!!!! i think apart from our new wizzard from barcalona the rest of the team have so stage been very average!!!!! most of them would have struggled to hold down a starting place in any of the other top 4 teams, I keep hearing fans saying we have loads of players but where is the quality that we all seen 10 - 15 years ago?

It was reported Elneney turned down the opportunity to sign for Leicester before the season started as he did not wish to drop a level and was in love with Arsenal Football Club.We should be proud the club is held is held in such high esteem but the player and if he wishes to sign to be a squad player I absolutely welcome this contract extension. However Elneny is very basic in his overall displays. You have to ask if he has the ability to affect games, most especially against the clubs that are regarded as bigger than us (albeit at the moment.
Deny it all you want but since Fabregas left Arsenal our frre flowing football has really declined. It feels like am the only one who thinks we lack real penetration and ideas in the final third of opponents. Also in 14/15 sesson I lost count of our misplaced passes and poor gameplay overall. We've been very very poor in our passing game for some seasons now.For a game like this to work you need players whonhold the ball very well and are possession efficient.Look at the Arsenal starting lineup and compare it to that of years back and you'll know what I mean.We have very few possession efficient players which is causing this problem. We don't have many players who can actually hold the ball and play the ball. That's what differentiates us from the top passing teams.

If you look at Wilshere clearly he has these matches since his injury where he starts to get back to his old self.Honestly, I see an injury free Wilshere being world class even if it's not with us.The talent in him is just too much and only these repetitive injuries can hold him back.I don't see him becoming a normal player because even when you look at his Bournemouth loan which was okay the way he performed against the top teams shows he will make it.He's better than Ramsey but more injury prone. If he had Ramsey's fitness he'd be better. However, it's best we sell him with a buy back clause or send him on lian to aid his development.

Jack makes Özil look like a poor player, he holds on to the ball for too long and slows down our passing game, besides I don't see him going anywhere near the starting eleven except we have an injury crisis, lastly, you don't win the league by having bad players on the bench, jack is an amazing talent and will be good to have him as backup when all hell break loose.
There are still six weeks left until the season starts, so I'll hold off my judgement until then, but I'll be majorly pissed off if we don't bring at least two decent players into the fold.
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
this window has just finished i am already thinking about who we will get for the january window we might try for khedira on a really low offer as he is free agent almost would help boost numbers in midfield in the new year as we will no doubt need to filling the numbers about then also i will hold my hands up and say i was wrong this morning for giving wenger stick and saying welbeck is rubbish i have been out in the cold light of day and had a chance to reevaluate the situation and realized that this could be a canny shrew transfer on wenger behalf actually if wenger can turn the clock back and work his magic on welbeck and get him scoring goals and improve his game then we could have a great underrated signing on our hands its wengers absolute trust in him that might be what makes him a great player as this is something that he never had at old mordor if anybody can make him a world beater wenger can he loves this little pet projects improving players against the odds welbeck has the skillset to be high class player upfornt he just needs to work very hard on his finishing i think once he gets a few goals under his belt he will settle in fine and he is a team player you could put him on the left against man city to shore up that side and he will put in a great shift without a complaint that could be his biggest asset to us or on the right whenever we need him there ithinkwenger might start himon the left against city to protect the left back against navas and i bet you if he does a great job we will take a shine to him quickly i am hopeing he will be one of those wenger gems that he finds and polishes up to a high finish i must admit i was annoyed as some other gunners were at not signing d / m and c / h but if wenger does win the league with this lot it will be his greatest win yet and what might play in to our hands is the unpredictable nature of the league in the last few seasons if we get on a good run at the right time we might be hard to stop look at city they should have never lost to stoke but the result is there in black and white for all to see and i think chelsea will hit the skids after a while to just because cesc and costa are doing well now thats there main threat but teams will work out how to stop them as the season goes on and chelsea will become predictable i think we might just do well this season after all
Young players like Iwobi, Chambers and Holding are stagnating after promising starts.
i think this could officially be the start of the end for wenger his blind arrogance has cause him to buy welbeck in the sheer belief that AGAINST THE ODDS HE CAN BEAT THE REST OF THE BIG 4 WITH ONE ARM BEHIND HIS BACK we should be buying top top top european c / l standard players not sunderland spuds everton standard players thats about welbecks standard of club in all truthful reality he is an honest hard working player but wenger thinks he can coach the mediocrity out of him he is truely insane its a guaranteed source of goals we need not more fancy hold up play and «pace» and missing chance after chance so the postman is to be joined by the manchester metro tram absolute disgrace he has kidded on ozil and sanchez they must be wondering what is going on atm they are seeing the true wenger now just panicking and not panicking very well to that effect and for some reason wenger has gone all kinky for english players for some strange reason at least chambers has great potential welbeck has past that stage and is a seasoned pro now and he is no where near what we need wenger is trying to show how great he is by whiping the back out of the same players week after week in the vain hope that he can win the league without rotating ever and they will get injured and he wont have learned his lesson and we will pay for it in the end best last day transfer would have been a 4 year contract for klopp

The biggest problem has been wenger for long time now «project» run Arsenal football club as an academy and try to prove to everyone else he is the one who knows better and try to bring in kids who have potential but not ready for 1st team resisting spending money to improve squad depth and cling in on average players: Iwobi, welbeck, theo, chambers, holding and player other players on wrong position Monreal and not give opportunity to good footballer Perez and Campell also you have been holding too much power from transfer, players contracts, arsenal finances as a whole and now all that BS start to backfire

then don't expect us to win the EPL, until we start buying players like walker for 50m we will remain average, d most important players are fightback, left back, DM, and creative midfielder, the league now is too competitive pls let's stop leaving in the past, u can't win d league with holding, mert, kosieny, chambers, we have lost it
Realistically: Ospina Niles — Mustafi — Holding — Monreal Ramsey — Bielik Ox — Ozil / Iwobi — Reine - Adelaide Welbeck With most of our first team players having played 2 games in 2 days and 3 of them namely Perez, Koscielny and Coquelin having picked up a knock, i don't see Wenger risking to start the likes of Giroud or Sanchez.
before all the retards start giving thumbs down just do a quick round up of who we sold and bought and you will figure out that we have just spent 30 mil on players and look at manure they are getting di maria for 63mil... just a shame... this is rubbish, we have no chance if we do nt spend on a strker, defender and a holding midf... I'm sorry for myself and all arsenal supporters.
Players need to start being held accountable.
Im not sure your comment is correct... everyone starts somewhere at a reasonable price Cesc was free and turned into a valuable player Bellerin — similar and valued at # 50mn now apparently Kante — bought for nothing and won 2 premier leagues in a row Vardy from non-league to England and prem league title Mahrez — 400k Holding — looks good and only # 2mn Mbappe — last year was # 230k now # 100mn Teams like Man City, Chelsea and Man Utd plus eg Monaco and others just pay silly money which inflates the price and then «fans» feel their clubs have to spend the same....
Bellerin, Holding, Chambers, Iwobi, are all players that started out great when introduced to first team, but then became bang average (or worse) after about a season.
It is my hope that Xhaka is sold and that players are not played out of position.I just still can not see Monreal as a CB.It always feels like there» lll be that game where he'd be so poor due to his bad positional sense. The guy is not a CB and will never be one.If Monreal is starting over Chambers and Holding then that's worrying.
Even if Arsenal can hold on to their star player until the end of the season, Arsene Wenger may well have good reason to start identifying targets now as he prepares to rebuild his attack next year.
1996/7 was his first (part season) where he formally took over at (If I can recall correctly) around mid-late October. We had actually started the season fairly well with Pat Rice holding the reins until Wengers contract was up in Japan. And that was following a particularly bad run of pre season results I remember.Anyway you will recall we qualified for the UEFA CUP with a late Bergkamp screamer (oh how I worshipped that player) against Bolton. Were we pleased with this?Absolutely we were. You could see the progression in the team and with talk of more top players arriving we were all very encouraged and dare I say it?
Like yesterday was as low as it gets for me as fan I didn't even care when Liverpool got 3 rd and fourth goals because we're dead our pride as fans is same as players we're just dead hurt, sad, weak and spineless then it gets better ox is going Chelsea today and now timers sanchez has put in transfer request haha when board said change they meant it change as in we're selling all players and we're going like Aston Villa laugh u mite we are rotten from top to da bottom and it will get better cause I bet by Thursday we will bring in nobody and promote young kids we mite chance van diik he's going for 60 million and by Thursday night sky sports will report arsenal came in with last min bid of 21 million for van diik it got flat out laughed at so at 1 min to 11 we came in again with bid of 27 million and add ons til 2029 its hard and it is only beginning haha ox starts at anfield and was shambles and he is sold today says a lot about wenger if that was me I'd say stay away till ur sold u little traitor thanks ox hope its worth it, loyalty me behind ahwell we still bellerin another little man and heart holding for Barca ahhhh I'm so mad we need Simeon's cum in and start bouncing heads off da canvas Jesus bring bk George graham at least we have defence??

Also the writer of this article says that Wenger will look at the players in pre-season then decide who to buy.LOL.What a silly idea, we need to buy players early an have them play during our pre-season to get settled, so that we start the season running, this is what chelsea did last year, i know its hard to get all these deals done, but they managed it with Czech, this is what annoys me the most.Wengers held back again like every season because of sentimentality, and it just keeps holding us back
