I was surprised that the
recipe calls for
strawberry juice to be drained off and discarded (we used it in place of the sugar

recipe I roasted the
strawberries with Alessi white balsamic reduction along with a little honey which really enhanced the flavor of the
strawberries and created a delicious
syrup to be incorporated into the ice cream.

strawberries to be so sweet that this
recipe is fine as is, but if you'd like a sweeter smoothie, feel free to add in a packet or two of Stevia or a teaspoon or two of maple
syrup or honey.
