In 2014, the Ontario government passed the Stronger Workplace for
a Stronger Economy Act, 2014.
In a previous post, we discussed potential changes proposed under the Bill 18, known as the Stronger Workplaces for
a Stronger Economy Act.
Although the 2014 Stronger Workplaces for
a Stronger Economy Act (Bill 18) originally included a statutory amendment to have experience rating premium costs borne by the client company, this was removed at the committee stage and replaced by a provision giving the government authorization to make regulations on this issue.
Bill 18, the Stronger Workplaces for
a Stronger Economy Act, introduced a number of measures to protect the more vulnerable employees.

a Stronger Economy Act, 2013 («Bill 146»).
