The paintings in the
exhibition were done in a short period of time,
from 1954 to 1956 when Kaprow was in his late twenties, having studied art since his teens as a
student at the High School of Music and Art in New York City — he later received an MA in art history
from Columbia.
Student artists used found images
from newspapers and magazines to add drawings to the walls during museum hours throughout the run of the
exhibition.

The Foundation is pleased to be presenting sketchbooks dating
from Mitchell's
student years through the end of her life this summer and fall in
exhibitions at the Kunsthaus Bregenz, Austria and the Museum Ludwig, Germany.
This year's Fine Art Program will finish its season with a
Student Exhibition in the Fine Arts Gallery, scheduled to open on May 6th
from 10 am to 1 pm.

exhibition includes the current 20 MFA
student works
from 11 different MFA programs in Northern and Southern California.
