Do I need to
submit another
adoption application?
This fee can not be applied to the
adoption cost of the animal, and must be
done in person along with
submitting a completed
adoption application.
Please note that
submitting an
application is only the first step in our
adoption process and
does not qualify you as an approved adopter.
Although the agencies
do not sell animals for a set price, potential owners may have to
submit adoption applications, references and pay
adoption fees.

adoptions, we ask that you fill out an
adoption application prior to inquiring about meeting any of our pets.
If you don't hear from us within a week of
submitting your
adoption application, please e-mail us.
Once your
application is filled out and
submitted, someone will call you to
do a phone interview for
adoption pre-approval.
Please
do not email us to ask how to adopt a dog or if you can meet a dog w / out
submitting an
application; you will need to complete the
adoption application; there are no exceptions.

We also require that within four months of having adopted your new addition that at least one full round / session of group classes of obedience (they can range from 6 - 18 weeks) must be started and upon completion; proof (registration + completion) must be
submitted and with having your signature on the
adoption application / contract; you will be in a legal breach of your contract should this not be
done.
Please
do not just show up at an
adoption event and expect to adopt a dog that day - we need time to review your
application ahead of time, which is why we ask that you
submit your
application ahead of time so you don't miss out on the dog you are hoping to adopt while you wait for your
application to be reviewed.

adoption application / contract; you will be in a legal breach of your contract should this not be

In cases where the family in question
does not have a dossier logged in with the CCCWA, once the child's file has been logged in, HIC will have six months to
submit the family's
adoption dossier and
application to the CCCWA.
