As New Scientist went to press, politicians on both sides of the Atlantic were finalising their game plans to tackle the rise of
Sunni jihadist group Islamic State, but the issue of homegrown fighters won't be far from their minds.
Islamic State's offshoot in Afghanistan, known as
the Sunni jihadist group's so - called Khorasan Province, is suspected of carrying out several attacks on minority Shi'ite Muslim targets.
The overwhelming percentage of the killing has been done by
Sunnis killings Shiites, Shiites killing
Sunnis,
Sunnis and Shiites killing Kurds, Iran surrogates killing both, especially
Sunnis and Americans, and foreign
jihadists killing everyone, including themselves.
