Newsflash: Swim diapers don't hold pee, especially if they're dry.
Swim diapers do not need inserts, they are not meant to be absorbent.
Unlike disposable swim diapers, reusable
swim diapers do not absorb water and swell, so your baby or toddler won't look like he / she is wearing a water balloon!
This may be silly but... If swim diapers don't hold in pee at all then what's the use of using them?

the swim diaper did a good job holding in EBF poop (though we didn't have any poop incidents while he was in the water).

the swim diaper does nothing for absorption he got a diaper rash FAST and it was one of the worst ones he's ever had!

swim diapers.
At Private Pools
Swim diapers are important even if you have a pool in your own backyard, or know someone who
does.
Even if your pool doesn't require it, or you have your own pool at home, cloth
swim diapers are a great way to keep everyone safe and healthy.
Since
swim diapers are designed only to catch poop, and not absorb urine, if they don't fit well, they might as well not be wearing anything!
However, spring will arrive before you know it and then you will be looking everywhere for
swim diapers (been there,
done that).

swim diapers for the summer, don't despair — my good friend showed me that they actually survive SEVERAL washes in the washmachine and make it through the dryer as well — so far I have used the same pack of

do that with poopy ones!
And, while they might hold a bowel movement for a good five minutes, you

I think

I'll continue to use them for
swimming clothes transport after my
diapering days are

did look at disposable
diapers once before buying a cloth
swim diaper, and wondering how it would hold anything in since my son was on the small side and still way under the weight range for the small disposable
swim diapers.

do use cloth
swim diapers when we
swim and I take cloth
diapers everywhere.
Hat, sunscreen, bug repellent, warms clothes / pj's for chilly nights, smores makins» (yes this is a must have), sleeping bags & blankets to make one big family bed in your tent, life jacket that fits really well,
diapers (we still cloth
diaper if we are camping near laundry facilites),
swim diapers (or we just use a pocket
diaper without an insert and find that it works really well to contain what it needs to and doesn't bring on lots of water), first aid kit, flashlight, rain gear, a way to get clean water (filtering it yourself or access to water at the campground), snacks, and a good campsite.
I always thought this was extremely silly as the cloth
swim diapers had much tighter leg gussets and the disposable didn't.
Trips to the beach were also in cloth, and dips in the water were
done with an empty pocket because we hadn't invested in a cloth
swim diaper yet.
