swing lows clearly marked, as potential future Support / Resistance levels, where I will focus my attention to the price action that occurs on my top two charts (4 hour and daily
time -
frame) when price moves to one of my SR levels on the highest
time -
frames.
One of the reasons why
swing trading is such a huge advantage to the retail trader, is that it allows you to skip all the market «noise» of short
time frames, like those under the 1 - hour chart.
But basic price action tools like
swings, trend lines, and channels are useful on all
time frames.
I use the exact same methods for day trading that I use in my
swing trades, just on a shorter
time frame (usually the 5 - and 15 - minute intra-day charts).
There really is a lot to learn from these two books and much of what they discuss is relevant to the style of trading we practice here at Learn To Trade The Market, i.e., position /
swing trading on higher
time frame charts.
This is especially true for our style of higher
time frame trend - trading and
swing trading.
Larger
time frames require bigger stops, thus a bigger account, so you can handle the market
swings without facing a margin call.
Use the higher
time frames and focus on the major
swing highs and lows.
Buy and holders should be doing it in a longer
time frame than
swing traders, which is still longer than that of day traders.

But there are no traders who caught every price
swing on every market
time -
frame.

With the use of technical analysis,
swing traders will use shorter
time frames to profit from market moves.
For this article, we will focus on the H1
time frame, but
swing traders often use the same principles on the Daily
time frame very successfully.

swing trading, or even investing, the classic definition of an up trend is:
Swing traders may also find some good ideas for short - term
swings if they set the
time -
frame parameters to longer
time frames.
Furthermore, the
time -
frames utilized by traders are also quite subjective, and a day trader may hold a position overnight, while a
swing trader may hold a position for many months at a
time.
In the case of auto - lock, which (with some locks) triggers the bolt to extend after a set period of
time after being opened, our experience quickly revealed why they're a generally bad idea: If you forget to shut the door and then try and
swing it closed later, you will either bash your door
frame or possibly have your door not shut at all if you aren't attentive.
Ergo, property «prices» could
swing significantly within that
time frame.
