The issue with Hashimoto's is that your TSH can normalize while your body is slowly and quietly destroying your thyroid gland and your doctor has no clue because the level of destruction hasn't yet triggered an abnormal
TSH reading.
It's just that you have to know how your Hashimoto's may affect that reading as well as the variances in the ranges of «normal» when it comes to interpreting
your TSH reading.
In the case of Adrenal Fatigue sufferers their thyroid is often performing weakly, so they will typically have
a TSH reading of above 2.0.
Not exact matches
Many conventional doctors only look at thyroid stimulating hormone (
TSH), but your
TSH can
read as «normal» while hypothyroidism or even autoimmunity lurk underneath.
You can see that this is extremely wide — someone with a 5.0
reading has ten times the level of
TSH as someone with a 0.5
reading, but these patients are both categorized as healthy!
However, the sad fact is that many more doctors will look at that 4.9
reading for
TSH and declare you fit and well.
Tests results for the standard thyroid test «
TSH» are not necessarily standardized and each doctor may
read the results differently.
I thought the overnight weight gain was due to warfarin, diltiazem and now propafenal but I think it's my hadhimotos and a
reading of 25.9 on my

I have been
reading your book and watching your videos related to iodine and thyroid health since I had a blood test back in January that had a
TSH result of 16.8, I got retested in March and the score dropped to 6.8, and then I was just retested in May, and it dropped to 3.8, however my doctor also tested for antibodies (two numbers) that came back high.
So, when a doctor checks your blood for three thyroid hormone markers, they are basing this generally on the
reading of the hormone called
TSH (thyroid stimulating level).
After
reading about the Brazilian research in January this year and doing some further searching online I started using red 650nm lasers on my thyroid — I have tested for hashimotos antibodies (TPOAb 175) and have some nodules on my thyroid — Really, I did nothing complicated — I started overlaying the lasers over the Thyroid for a few minutes a day — in less than 6 weeks my
TSH had dropped from 10.5 to 5.3 in addition to improvements in T3 RT3, FSH etc..
Any advise do I stop exercise and supplements for a month to see how the sleep and swelling in neck body temp and
TSH improve or do I up my Iodine to get it up to 1 mg.I have
read elsewhere that Iodine supplements can cause Hyperthyroid?

It's also possible that the test
reading comes back showing lower than normal levels of
TSH and an overactive thyroid.
The
TSH is within «normal» range, but
reading your book it seems much higher than optimal.
Tsh is a good friend of mine (she used to live here) and I would really love to
read her book.
I have been wanting to
read Tsh's book since it came out.
