We didn't notice much lag on our unit, and we really rinsed the Sony Xperia
Tablet Z as much as we could.
Where you can plug an iPad in for a 10 minute power blast and be confident you'll gain a bit of juice for a quick jaunt, the Sony Xperia

By comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1's 1.4 - GHz quad - core Exynos 4412 CPU with 2 GB of RAM scored only 1,733 on the same test, and the Sony Xperia
Tablet Z registered 1,965.
This is well below the 7:06 tablet category average and is much lower than the battery life on both the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (8:57) and the Sony Xperia
Tablet Z (9:51).
It also beat the Sony Xperia
Tablet Z's 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro with 2 GB of RAM (20,314) by a decent margin.
In 3DMark Ice Storm Extreme, the Toshiba Excite Write scored 7,778, while the Sony Xperia
Tablet Z notched a more impressive 8,976.
The Android 4.4.4 KitKat update is rolling out now for Sony Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and
Tablet Z.
The Xperia
Tablet Z will also come with an 8MP rear - facing camera which according to Sony, is the first backside - illuminated camera that they have put into a tablet which should help with low - light situations.
