These two posts were in response to an
email from a My Toddler
Talks reader asking how to encourage her toddler to communicate with words rather than pulling and pointing.
I was recently contacted by a
reader asking that I review his first
email style and when doing so I was reminded of what I
talk about in my guide:
When you
talk about more than just romance, whether on your profile or in a first contact
email, you run the risk that the
reader will start to back away.
If via that device we could access movies, music, the web, our
email,
talk with anyone in the world, etc., etc., what good would an eBook
reader be?
Do this well and you'll be worthy of word of mouth, where your
readers and visitors will go away
talking about you,
emailing others about you, tweeting and liking you.
Bella and Hugh Howey particularly
talked about the book itself as marketing — the brilliant story, delivering on the promise to the
reader, a consistent production schedule, covers that evoke the emotion of the story, the author's name, the title and sub-title, the sales description and keywords,
email and newsletters.
He
talks about how the best way to build an
email subscription base is to have a free product to offer
readers in exchange for their signing up for the newsletter — and how difficult that can be for fiction writers.
Always take time out on social medias to
talk to your
readers and always respond to their
emails.

readers, come time to release your next book.
