The GOP is in the midst of a civil war, pitting
the tea partiers against the more moderate economic — centric members.
The Republicans used the fear, hatred and bigotry of
the Tea Partiers against Obama to win the House, and this year, they will use them to try to win back the White house and the Senate.
That is the root core, right there, of the animosity shown by
Tea partiers against Obama.
Not exact matches
The only countervailing power is that within the Republican Party a fringe of
tea partiers threatens to run
against more established candidates safely sold to special interests.
The
Tea Partiers really believed Romney would win and the revolution
against the unconstitutional welfare state as such would continue.
But here's the fundamental problem: the
Tea Partiers may have mobilized
against Obama and his policies (and in part be motivated by fear of him and the demographic changes he represents), but they're also opposed to big chunks of the Republican establishment.
And there it is — essentially, a handful of Republicans have occasionally broken ranks to protest NIMBY projects that their states would object to, or to vote
against something so egregious that anyone but a stalwart, balls - to - the - wall
Tea Partier would have to admit is crazy.
