Using a Tegra X1 I feel is a poor move and
the Tegra X2 would have been the wiser way to go.
So far, we've heard the NX will be powered by Nvidia, with the Tegra X1 SoC, or with
the Tegra X2 SoC, possibly its Parker SoC.
That could mean the company is partnering with Nvidia to use its upcoming
TEGRA X2 that is more powerful compared to the original model.
The upcoming chip hasn't been formally named as Nvidia
TEGRA X2 and we know it as «Tegra - next» which is likely «Parker.»
A recent report claimed that Nintendo NX is using a modified version of Nvidia
TEGRA X2 chip.
Would be nice to have a 1080p screen with maybe
a Tegra X2 or even a standalone console version with 4K graphics.
And if the revised version of Nintendo's hybrid platform has 8 GB of RAM (same amount as the vanilla PlayStation 4) and includes
the Tegra X2, we'll be looking at an improved gaming platform that stands head and shoulders above the rest.
