Yeah, I think building a Smash game from the ground up is entirely pointless at this moment... just port the excellent Wii U foundation, increase the content, give us Ice Climbers and Simon Belmont, and take my $ 60.
I think it would make the most sense to just port the Wii U / 3DS version, bring back characters that were taken out due to the restrictions of the 3DS (Ice Climbers / Pokemon Trainer) and update it with newer characters and stages.
About changing taunts, I think they'd all be the same as Brawl (none of the Fighters from what I noticed had different taunts), only with just 1 Ice Climber.
