Um, did anyone
think of the possibility that because
meat is high in complete protein (and chicken is particularly high in
lean protein, which is why bodybuilders eat it) the weight gain might be due to
lean mass gains (ie muscle).
So if we were to compare veganism with a diet full of whole foods including a moderate amount of
lean meats and fish, I
think the average weight of the two groups would be very similar.
I happen to
think salads and grilled
lean meats taste amazing and I
think living on indulgent junk food is anything but living.
Their recipes use pasta etc, low fat dairy, eggs and
lean meat so I don't
think it fits the Paleo model.
However I
think turkey is one of the
leanest meats, so unless you're really adding a lot of fat to the turkey, you're going to be burning through your protein allotment really fast.
