Though classic movies are far from my favourite, there are definitely much better ones out there.

The setup is familiar to anyone with a John Hughes DVD, and
though Starter for 10 sticks fairly closely to the
classic teen -
movie plot (boy has to choose between two girls, loses them both, fights to get the right one back), it still manages to pack some surprises.
And
though I'm often reticent to watch
movies more than once or twice, Tully is the kind of cinematic treat — a cult
classic well in the making — that you'll want to rewatch again the second it's over, not just to help piece together various narrative clues but to revisit the rib - tickling jokes and hang out with these characters for a little longer.
Though the legacy of Raimi's trilogy may have been marred a bit by the tepid reaction to the third installment (although for the record, I actually liked it quite a bit), it still contains some of the best superhero
movies to date, especially the well - received sequel featuring Alfred Molina as
classic Spidey villain Doc Ock.

though based on no comic, Lucy is a film that mates
classic Besson with Quentin Tarantino in a go at the mystical, world - solving vision found in Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey and Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life.

though rather than take its cues from urban noir, it offered a postapocalyptic variation on a

Tobe Hooper's 1986 Invaders From Mars is a remake of William Cameron Menzies» 1953 science - fiction / horror
classic,
though at times it plays like a direct response to the
movies of Steven Spielberg — including the Hooper / Spielberg collaboration Poltergeist.
Though the «sex equals death» rule isn't as prominent in modern horror
movies that defy those decades - old tropes, «It Follows» is very much a retro homage to «70s and «80s genre
classics, from the «Halloween» - esque synth score, to the striking similarities to «Nightmare on Elm Street,» both in Jay's perpetual helplessness and the film's dreamlike atmosphere.
It has an interesting effect on the game in general — the clarity does a lot for its atmosphere,
though as you'd expect some of the less realistic aspects of the world and geometry are good amount more exposed at 4K — like how previously - great special effects in
classic movies can look a bit iffy at high resolutions.
Though genre fans will notice that «Oblivion» borrows pretty heavily from a recent sci - fi
movie that will remain unnamed (not to mention other
classics), it's still a really great concept that, while not exactly original, is cool to see realized on a grander scale.

though Lone Scherfig «s World War II romantic dramedy Their Finest actually hails from across the pond, it's still looking for that sweet spot of nostalgia for
classic filmmaking crossed with the hardships of war.

Though «Maleficent» is an admirable attempt at breathing new life into a
classic tale, there are so many problems with the story and supporting characters that it would have made more sense to go the direct route and make a live - action «Sleeping Beauty»
movie instead.
I'm thinking
classic House of the Dead
though, with frights and horrors aplenty; whilst I loved House of the Dead: Overkill and its «B -
movie» vibe, I'd rather have the «incredibly cheesy but takes itself seriously» feel of the original games.
