Several new species of
Thwomp make their debut in Super Mario 64.
The Super
Thwomps make a second return in SNES Rainbow Road that reappears the third time in the first DLC pack, The Legend of Zelda × Mario Kart 8; these Thwomps also use the Super Mario Galaxy design unlike in Mario Kart 7.

In fact you may recognise some aspects from other games from gaming past especially with the inclusion of enemies that resemble
Thwomps from the Super Mario franchise, a design which Big Pixel Studios have
made no effort to hide.

making combos around them, however), while
Thwomps occasionally drop and crush the blocks underneath it to half - size, which can aid the player in scoring combos.

make their way through the first three, and the fourth and final giant one by distracting it with some coins (which fall out of Mario's pocket when he tries to convince Luigi to use some of his cookies instead).
In Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, in the Mrs.
Thwomp battle, Micro Goombas
make up the miniature clones.
Thwomps also
make a few minor appearances in the Super Mario World television series, mainly serving as guards in the Neon Castle.
