As I pondered then, if an iPod like that (which we now have, the iPod
Touch) was increased to the size of a book, why would there be a need for an
eBook reader?

Touch as you would in the Kindle, Nook, or Kobo line of
readers, but the unit is perfectly acceptable for your average user who just wants to change the size of the font and load in their own books.
Such a panel normally appears
as a flat, transparent surface that can easily replace the standard
touch - screen displays on existing smartphones, tablets,
ebook readers and handheld gaming devices.

ebook readers, the Daily Edition PRS900 and the
Touch Edition PRS600, the versatility of their performance rated well in terms of their ability to behave
as digital notepads for text or drawings.
I'm not looking at it
as an
ebook reader, since I already have my PRS - 505, which I adore, and I sometimes use the Kindle, B&N, and Kobo apps on my iPod
Touch.
While I mostly use Amazon Kindle (NASDAQ: AMZN) personally, I've also interacted with Nook, previous Sony
eBook readers, namely PRS - 505 and PRS - 600
Touch as well
as Apple iPad / iPhone, Android apps.
Just
as the images show us, eDGe digital
reader features an unique dual - screen design, including a 9.7 - inch e-ink screen for traditional
ebooks, and a 10.1 - inch LCD
touch screen for playing movies or MP3 files, browsing sites, adding other applications, sending and receiving Emails, etc..
Amazon has stuck an entire Qwerty keyboard on this thing, which is necessary because unlike some other
ebook readers (such
as the Sony
Reader Touch PRS - 650) there's no touchscreen present here.
