Last year the United States Patent and
Trademark Office (USPTO), itself, published its own
report citing a «drastic rise in patent
litigation» that also referenced a USPTO working paper ominously revealing that «economists, legal scholars and policy makers are concerned about the impact of patent
litigation on the rate and direction of US innovation and on the functioning of the US intellectual property system.»
Recently expanded to cover
trademark, copyright, and antitrust
litigation, Docket Navigator is the only service that
reports every significant event, in every case, every day.
Attendees of the 137th annual meeting of the International
Trademark Association in San Diego, CA, May 2 - 6, can pick up a complimentary copy of the
report by visiting booth # 1323, where they can also get a demo of Lex Machina's new Legal Analytics for

The 882
trademark cases brought during the recent quarter was the highest since 2015's third quarter, but outside of that, it's the lowest level of
trademark litigation going back to before the first quarter of 2009, the oldest quarter which the Lex Machina IP
report shows.
