We know that television informs us, a genuine window on the world, but also that its commercial demand for profit severely limits the amount
of diversity of opinion that is aired, that it tends to
trivialize issues and to represent the views
of the rich, so that through TV the average citizen simply can not get the information needed to make intelligent decisions about living in our democracy.
