The new for 2013 evolution of the Super
Trofeo race car, Mr Reggiani made it quite clear they didn't want to create a revolution with this new
model, will be heading to the American shores next... to compete in a third Super
Trofeo Series... Lamborghini makes it a global thing now, however the teams will remain on their own continent... there will be three totally different Super
Trofeo Championships in fact... most likely with only very minor differences in the car itself.
As good to drive as it is to look at with very close track performance [in
race mode when compared with the
Trofeo], the Stradale is still as comfortable as other
models in the GranTurismo range.
The experts behind the
race going Lamborghini
models from the Murcielago R - GT and R - SV, but also the Gallardo GT3
race car... currently this latter one had evolved into an LP600 version... yep 600 Bhp from the V10 engine, and according to qualified engineers this is about the maximum figure the current V10 engine can cope with if you don't count on turbocharging, so for Lamborghini themselves to release a 590 bhp version would mean they are stretching the engine as far as it will go for street use (note the Super
Trofeo race car puts out «only» 562 Bhp) and the Gallardo successor will receive a modified V10 engine to put some reserve into it again.
It also spawned a more aerodynamic and powerful
model called the GranSport, as well as a
Trofeo race car.
The new increased aerodynamic down force enables the car to accelerate faster and last longer on the road compared to the GranTurismo version, additional specifications were added to make it resemble
racing versions like the MC
Trofeo spec racer and the GT4 competition
model.
This is the most advance
model in the Gallardo line - up and draws its inspiration from the Gallardo «Super
Trofeo», the successful
racing car developed by Lamborghini's
racing division.
Inspired by the
Trofeo GranTurismo MC and the
race - winning GT4 motorsport
models, the two - seater Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale that will debut at the Paris Auto Show will feature razor - sharp handling and will break the 300km / h barrier.
