The latest spy shots of the Lamborghini Huracan Performante test mule unveil an air vent on top of the front fenders, as seen on the Huracan Super
Trofeo race car, while another outlet looks to be installed behind the front wheel, a large air intake behind the door in front of the rear wheel seems to be carved into the bodywork too... it seems the Huracan Performante will be a street legal
version of the Super
Trofeo racer.
The Coupe also spawned a
Trofeo Light
version, which was developed for use in the international
racing series, including the Rolex Sports Car Series and FIA GT3 European Championship, but that's another story for another time.

Trofeo Maserati, a one - make championship for

version of the Paris concept car looking like a mix between the original Sesto Elemento concept, a Gallardo and a Super
Trofeo race car... and street legal after all...
The experts behind the
race going Lamborghini models from the Murcielago R - GT and R - SV, but also the Gallardo GT3
race car... currently this latter one had evolved into an LP600
version... yep 600 Bhp from the V10 engine, and according to qualified engineers this is about the maximum figure the current V10 engine can cope with if you don't count on turbocharging, so for Lamborghini themselves to release a 590 bhp
version would mean they are stretching the engine as far as it will go for street use (note the Super
Trofeo race car puts out «only» 562 Bhp) and the Gallardo successor will receive a modified V10 engine to put some reserve into it again.
The new increased aerodynamic down force enables the car to accelerate faster and last longer on the road compared to the GranTurismo
version, additional specifications were added to make it resemble
racing versions like the MC
Trofeo spec racer and the GT4 competition model.
It's been five years since Maserati introduced the
race - spec GranTurismo MC for the
Trofeo World Series, and the Italians have finally decided to build a
version for the international
racing scene.
They draw a direct line from the competition
version in the world's fasted single - brand
race series, the Lamborghini Blancpain Super
Trofeo, to the road.
Blancpain have released an updated
version of their Super
Trofeo Flyback Chronograph introduced in 2009 to celebrate their Super
Trofeo racing series done in partnership with Lamborghini.
