I mentioned on your FB post for the chocolate chip cookies that I substituted the brown sugar with
the Truvia brown sugar blend.
For the sweetener, I used
Truvia Brown Sugar Blend.
To keep the sugar somewhat under control, I used a combination of Pyure Organic Stevia Blend and
Truvia Brown Sugar Blend.
For the sauce, I used fresh squeezed lime juice (can sub two tablespoons of tamarind paste plus six tablespoons of rice vinegar), reduced sodium soy sauce (can sub tamari sauce or coconut aminos),
Truvia Brown Sugar Blend (can sub twice as much honey, coconut sugar, regular brown sugar, or sugar - free all - natural Sukrin Gold Brown Sugar), fish sauce (can sub vegan fysh sauce), and sriracha red chili sauce (can sub one half teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes).
To add that classic brown sugar flavor without as much sugar, I used
Truvia Brown Sugar Blend, a low - calorie blend of stevia and erythritol that's twice as sweet as sugar.
I also used
Truvia Brown Sugar Blend to add the richness of brown sugar with half the actual sugar, but you can substitute an equal measure of Pyure Organic Stevia Blend, or twice as much baking stevia, granulated erythritol, or granulated sugar like brown sugar or coconut sugar.
These are the two sweeteners I used:
Truvia Brown Sugar Blend and Pyure Organic Stevia Blend.
I sub in unsweetened almond milk and
Truvia brown sugar, and sometimes a ripe banana in place of some of the apple sauce to lighten it to 2 Smart Points.
I lightened it up with
Truvia brown sugar (This isn't a sponsored posts; I just love how versatile it is!).
In a small saucepan, mix
the Truvia brown sugar, half and half, butter and salt in a saucepan over medium - low heat.

I halved the recipe and healthified them a tad bit by using wheat flour, half of the butter called for the recipe, 1/2 cup of
brown sugar and 1/4 cup of
truvia instead of all
brown sugar.
Also eliminated the
brown sugar and substituted 1/4 cup of
Truvia Baking Blend.
I went the
Truvia brand route again, using both the white and
brown sugar blends.

For my keto recipes I like to use Swerve sweetener and
Truvia has a
brown sugar option as well If you want a more natural substitute you could always try molasses or maple syrup, but they aren't keto - friendly.
I made a few tweaks, used Regular and
brown Truvia instead of the sugars and white whole wheat four, along with Greek cream cheese.

brown rice protein isolate instead of vanilla, and added 2 tbs of regular cocoa powder (unsweetened) and 5 packets

Be on the lookout during this challenge for: dextrose, maltodextrin, sucrose, fructose, cane sugar, evaporated cane juice, acesulfame potassium (sold as Sweet One — often combined with aspartame or sucralose to sweeten gum, diet soda and other sweet products), aspartame (Nutri - sweet and equal), saccharin (sold as Sweet n» Low), stevia (combined with sugar alcohol and sold under brand names like
Truvia and Pure Via), erythritol (a sugar alcohol derivative of corn) xylitol,
brown rice syrup (and other syrups), high fructose corn syrup (made by treating starch extracted from corn with enzymes to make fructose and glucose)-- and if there's anything on a food label that you think might be sugar, google it.
I want to make these cookies again and experiment with swapping out the
brown sugar for honey, maple syrup or
Truvia / stevia.
If I would go back to coffee, it would be made black with
Truvia or
Brown Coconut sugar.
They took about 22 minutes in my oven to be nicely
browned and done, and I omitted the
Truvia because I dislike the taste of most sweetners.
