I've beaten all the Wii U games I have and have been playing Wii games that I never finished or didn't get to during this Wii
U game drought.

game and thus there shall be no
drought of
games on the Wii
U even in year two.
It would help alleviate the perceived
game drought the Wii
U is experiencing, while giving
gamers who didn't own a GameCube a chance to play these titles.
I think with the Vita, I had Gravity Rush (daze) and Uncharted, then there was nothing, for probably 5 months lol and the pattern just seemed to go on like that, took about a year before 2
games came out that I could say I really wanted like Uncharted and Gravity Rush again, that was Persona 4 and Soul Sacrifice, then literally, another years wait for Ys Celceta to come out, I just think the Wii
U has managed better since that first year
drought they had, plus I've had Wii mode to ponder which helps, I bought a ps3 on it's release and mostly played ps2
games on it, unfortunately it broke down a lot and I got fed up always sending it back, not really had many problems with my slim though, just don't love the system like I loved my ps2.
My kids don't feel the
drought either because they've gotten a decent amount of Wii
U games lately.
Wii
U isn't getting any of those
games (or any AAA
games) between that time, and having such huge
droughts won't help.
Nintendo had to adapt to the difficulties of HD
game development a generation after the rest of the console makers which led to the infamous Wii
U droughts, and the reason why Kimishima had to reshape the entire development structure of the company just a few years ago.
This could in essence describe why Nintendo had so many
game droughts during the Wii
U and 3DS from a 1st party perspective.
This led to the Wii
U suffering from constant
droughts of not having
games for the consumers.
I just can't count all of the failings Nintendo has done with the Wii
U, starting with the name, starting with the price, starting with the concept, continuing with the lack of marketing presence for 8 months, massive
drought of
games, delayed launch period
games, et al..
With the Wii
U having another
game drought, delaying one of its most anticipated titles really shows how much the Wii
U is suffering.
Despite a massive
drought of notable releases at the start of the year, Nintendo and third parties are packing the Wii
U's second half of 2013 with a plethora of good
games.

So one could possibly imagine that for me to go through a figurative
drought on both the Wii and Wii
U (2 generations and roughly 11 years) without something that I viewed as being a «real» Super Mario
game was undoubtedly disappointing for a fan of the series.
They want everyone to be very sure that the Switch won't have the same software
