The unitary patent will be available once 13 member states including the UK, France and Germany have ratified
the UPC agreement.
Changes to the patents act 1977 will be needed to ensure that the infringement provisions for European bundle patents and unitary patents that are set out in
the UPC agreement are applied in UK law.
