With today's new cloth diapers, no need to scrape poopy diapers and
use wet pails.
There is NO NEED TO —
USE WET PAILS.
If you decide to
use a wet pail to store your dirty diapers, make sure that your pail has a lid that secures tightly to keep your curious tot out.
When I was cloth diapering the question of the day was if one should
use a wet pail or dry.
If you do
use a wet pail please make sure that you have a securely locking lid on your pail to protect your babies from accidental drowning.
Note: If
you use the wet pail method for your diapers (where you fill the pail with water), you won't need a liner.
And I don't
use a wet pail at all.
Originally I'd intended to
use the wet pail system, but the washing machine system sounds like it'd work SO much better for us.
Maybe because
we used the wet pail method?
If you plan to
use a wet pail or combination method with a pail liner, you should be sure not to hang your pail liner from a door knob or hook, no matter what the manufacturer suggests.

use a hanging
wet bag in place of a
pail.

wet bag or small lidded
pail with a
wet bag for each bathroom you
use family cloth in.
When I first did research on
using mama cloth I read that they needed to be
wet pailed and it scared me off from the idea.
Wet pails are more often
used with flat and prefold diaper users, as soaking diapers can prematurely wear out elastics and polyurethane laminate coatings.
There are two ways to store
used diapers -
wet or dry cloth diaper

As with other diaper
pails, baking soda and essential oils can be
used in a
wet / dry
pail for odor control.
Dryer sheets are not recommended for
use when drying diapers, but scented dryer sheets work well for odor control in a dry or
wet / dry
pail.
A solution of water, odor and stain eliminators, baking soda and essential oils can be
used to reduce smells and staining in a
wet pail.
Then just tuck them into the
used diaper and add the whole mess to your diaper
pail or
wet bag — it's super easy!
I
use it to dump
wet diapers in the diaper
pail and carry it to and from the restroom when a diaper needs to be sprayed.
I've
used both dry and
wet pails, one with vinager and water mixture, now I've settled for a hanged pillow case.
Simply choose a hanging
wet bag or
pail, and
use some sort of deodorizer such as baking soda, doe - disk, or deodorant stick.

pail liners, a cloth diaper friendly diaper ointment, 1
wet bag, 3 dozen cloth wipes, 1 baby wipe solution mist, cloth diaper friendly detergent, 1 diaper sprayer (optional), and wool dryer balls if
using the dryer.
Tip:
Use a small
wet bag or a

It's been nearly seven years and, though we've had to purchase new
wet bags a couple of times, we still
use the same large wetbag / garbage

What about if I
use baking soda instead in the
wet -

Some people
use wet bags hanging on a doorknob, but I prefer to

used zipper
wet bags in the basement, no
pail, and never had an odor problem unless we forget to zip it!
We've
used 2 of these large
wet bags instead of diaper
pails for almost 5 consecutive years and just recently replaced them because the straps and zippers started to break.
